EBOOK/PDF [The Reborn King The Dragons Blade #1]
ARC provided to me by author Michael R Miller in exchange for an honest reviewMe being extra Darnuir memory is the heaviest of all things This story surrounds Darnuir who we first meet as an arrogant Dragon Prince who does not want to evacuate his homeland In this world demons are being summoned constantly by a very evil and ancient power who has bestowed some of his power onto others who are also helping him summon demons in hopes to completely take over this world The demonic forces swarm Darnuir s city sooner than expected and he is mortally wounded from a task that he wasn t even supposed to be in charge of He may very well be the last of his bloodline because of the demonic ambush so a wizard teleports them away so that he can be reborn into a new dragon where he will lose all of his memories yet keep his same and very important bloodline running through his veins Not only is the cover of this book orgeous but the story is so very beautiful as well And don t Gandhi Churchill: The Epic Rivalry that Destroyed an Empire and Forged Our Age get me wrong I ve read my fair share of resurrection novels but I m hard pressed to think of a book I ve read about rebirthing someone This story is captivating the world is so uniue the writing is addicting and the characters are so very unforgettable Three Races Dragons Homeland Aurisha The dragons of this age have morphed themselves to look like humans and only the strongest can morph back to their original forms but we do notet to see that in this book at all Dragons are much stronger faster and overall just perform much better than humans Fairies Homeland Val Tarra Be still my heart Fairies love the trees and think of them as their children In this book they are blued skinned with wings and are naturally very magical Reading the parts of this book that took place in their homeland were my absolute favorites chapters Humans Homeland Brevia The humans are legitimately just like us They do have a many Les Innocents groups of people scattered amongst this world that call themselves Hunters Hunters are trained to fight for most of their lives whether it is wildame to feed their families or demons to save their cities These three races are forced to band together to try to eliminate the demons and the people spawning them and to also try and save their worldThere is a lot of important discussion about race and prejudices in this book There is a lot of animosity between the humans and the dragons in this book and later the fairies and another race It is done well and the resolution and forgiveness became such an important part of this story I also loved how this book showcased how it can feel to be on both opposing sides Love is made up of many pieces Three Race Leaders Draconess The Dragon King and Darnuir s father Kasselle ueen of
the Fairies and my absolute favorite Arkus The Human King who has a missing son and is Fairies and my absolute favorite Arkus The Human King who has a missing son and is overprotective of his infant daughter These leaders are important but the rest of the characters in this book are so amazing too Darnuir The Dragon Prince and our main protagonist that I talked about above Cosmo A hunter that wants to just live a happy life but ends up being forced to take on important responsibility after important responsibility Cassandra A human irl who has been in captivity all her life until she is finally able to escape to ive warning for the upcoming
And Terrible Events That Are About To terrible events that are about to Balack Darnuir s best friend who he has rown up with and now has a lot of unsettled tension with Blaine Wielder of a powerful blade who teaches Darnuir a lot about who he really was and who he needs to become Ochnic Frost Troll who is basically a little cinnamon roll angel Magic users in this world have to tap into their magic using cascade energy which is very easy to become addicted to If you use too much you can o insane therefore wizards are very few in this world because most have The Lives of Stay-at-Home Fathers: Masculinity, Carework and Fatherhood in the United States gone mad Wizards also have staffs which doesn t seem too uncommon for a fantasy book but Michael R Miller did something super uniue and pretty cool The wizards in this world are allifted staffs that come from a tree Those trees are constantly linked to their staffs and the wizard can teleport to that tree at any iven time On the negative side though if something happens to the tree that the staff was made from the staff also suffers the same fate And what would A Book Be Without Some Villains Rectar book be without Some Villains Rectar big bad of this story Honestly he s still pretty much an enigma Castallan The other wizard and also a turn cloak traitor who is obsessed with cascade energy Zarl General of the demons who also wears a pretty awesome set of blood armor Dukoona Lord of the Spectres He was taught by Rectar how to command demons and for sure feels like his second in command but he totally has his own thoughts and feelings Okay hear me out but Dukoona is right up there with my favorite characters from this book and I have so much hope for a redemption story for him This whole series is surrounding these three magical powerful and mysterious blades that are needed to win this war against the demons Again such a uniue concept for a story and I was completely enthralled and yearned to learn about the history of each of these weapons Three Blades The Dragon s Blade The embodiment of a dragon fire flying and super powerful strength The wielder must. Arrogant Scornful Full of pride Darnuir Prince of Dragons cares nothing for the damage he's doing to the faltering alliance against the demonic forces of the Shadow He thinks himself invincible right up till a mortal wound forces him to un. ,
Ns cannot accept will not acceptAs heir to the dragon peoples In this world dragons do not soar the skies in bestial form any but have slowly transformed into earthbound humanoids Prince Darnuir is the second most influential individual in the kingdom his opinion openly voiced in all high council matters And with his frustration about the war and especially the leadership of his father mounting he believes as most youth s do that his ideas are superior to his father s that his leadership would be better than his father s But when the demons launch their attack on the dragon capital the prince s plans turn to dust leaving him on the edge of death The only way to save his life to perform the dangerous rebirthing spell which will leave Darnuir as a mere babe in human handsIn my opinion fantasy books can be categorized according to their main focus Some are action and adventure tales where the thrills and chills come often and the characters are only developed enough to ive you someone to rout for and against Other novels are serious books with real life issues developed and dealt with in a fairy tale setting the action and adventure only enough to enliven the serious narrative And then there are character driven stories where one person is carefully crafted molded from inexperienced youth to Gone: The Disappearance of Claudia Lawrence and Her Father's Desperate Search for the Truth good or evil adult the numerous events and plots revolving around this character s life like a hurricane around its eye And The Dragon s Blade The Reborn King is definitely the latter type of novelHere the story is Darnuir s tale He is the fallen heir of I received a free ebook copy of this title from the author via his websiteAnd that said it was definitely worth the time investment I really enjoyed this story and the characters The worldbuilding is prettyood too and some of the concepts behind the dragons is definitely intriguing I stumbled across this book and author while looking around for some new rimdark After reading it I probably wouldn t classify it in that subgenre but it does share some things that any reader of epic fantasy will love Think of some early Terry Brooks for comparison to the magic and depth of the worldIt s definitely a setup for future books in the series and I m sure I ll be looking into continuing I was sent this free by the author in exchange for an honest review With that said I enuinely found this a pleasure to read and many of the traps which I see some indie authors fall into were avoided within this book This is a fantasy book which is really fun Although it draws on various classical creatures of fantasy such as Dragons Fairies Humans Trolls Wizards and it does so in a fresh way and with a story that was fast paced and original I felt that the story pulled me in from page 1 and I was really loving the book for the first section I do think that the central section of the book suffered a little from overly descriptive sections but it was still ood and there was still a lot happening so this is of a niggle than a full complaint I really liked the revelations and speeding up of pacing for the ending though so not bad overallThis is a story about a Dragon although in this world the Dragons have transformed
so that the don t have a bestial form but rather a human form with dragon abilities such as extra staminastrength that the don t have a bestial form but rather a human form with dragon abilities such as extra staminastrength called Darnuir and the challenges he faces as the heir to a kingdom filled with battles and strife His role within the Dragon community is important being the heir but he is frustrated with his father and the way the Dragons are being led in their war Darnuir believes as many young creaturespeople do that he would be better for the job than his father and when the time comes for an all out battle he ets the chance to prove himself but the plan doesn t uite work outThe story had a fair amount of surprises which I didn t see coming and this is something which I always enjoy
when a book has the ability to entertain me and interest me I found the relationship between all the characters a book has the ability to entertain me and interest me I found the relationship between all the characters and magics of the world to be well thought out too and I think the power struggles were handled well Basically I just found this a really fun and interesting read for the majority of the book and would say that if you want a ood fantasy this is a ood fantasyIn the end I settled on a 4s as I really liked this and I do want to see where the story ends up Hello, Snow! going whenever the next book comes out It s a fun story with somereat character moments and I look forward to seeing from Michael R Miller in the future recommended So first off I did receive a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review but in no way does that affect the opinions stated herein 425 StarsSo dang I was really surprised with how much I liked this book It s mainly about a dragon named Darnuil who has to deal with the responsibilities of being the prince of the dragons during a huge war with demons by the way dragons have lost their winged form and are now humanoid But you also follow a couple of other characters as well so you et of a wide view There are fairies humans trolls dragons and wizards but they all have their own uniue twists that I found really interesting I think that is one of the things I loved the most was how compelling this novel was I wouldn t say its a uick read because I Have to uncover the secrets of his past seek redemption for his sins and rally the disparate races if they are to surviveOnly Darnuir can do this For he’s the last member of the royal bloodline and only he can wield the Dragon’s Blade.
