AdventuresOnce on Luminos winter is fast APPROACHING AND THE OWNER OF THE and the owner of the Black Hall The Reaper has long been an nemy of Zar s The Reaper is pleased that over 2000 women were brought to their planet so that perhaps many of the warriors might find their fated one The unclaimed women are locked together and very frightened Ashley is permitted by Zar to try to calm them down About a third listen the rest are too scared to take it all in Zar said that is normal Ashley meets a fated one from a previous raid She is very pregnant and has two other young sons They become friends Butas with other Vi Voxley stories scary adventures await both her and Zar before they get their HEA GREAT STORY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED I BOUGHT THIS BOOK Reasonably Unreasonable I LIKED THIS BOOK BECAUSE OUT OF ALL THE liked this book because out of all the of sci fi Edicts of Asoka erotic novels I have read this one has the heroine Ashley talking to Zar the Harbinger from Luminos and trying to make him see how wrong he is to abduct women Usually the abducted woman just accepts her captor and her new situation with little fuss In this book Ashleyven defies Zar and gets the other three abducted women into an Upgrade Soul escape pod and sends it into space but without her She knows her chance of getting back toarth are gone now and she must live with the wrath of Zar Vi Voxley s strong writing template story some spoilersAs usual Vi s writing is uite strong but I find it hard to understand why the need to populate the galaxy with yet another gender handicapped race of warriors with godly physiues and cavemen mentalities Don t get me wrong one or two races of he men who look just like really well built humans with insignificant differences in macho societies on steroids it s nice to read about I liked the fleshed out Brion society the larger context and the battles and dangers they were facing They re page turners ven after say the fifth installment The Palian Paladin book was a nail biter The Corgan series started to sueak a bit but still had many high points The heroines were still reasonably asy to understand still likable and so were the heroes But after that it started to suffer from writerreader fatigue There was the Octava series and it felt like I was reading another writer So I was hoping for a return to Vi Voxley s form from the BRION PHASE WHEN THE CHARACTERS AND phase when the characters and story were pinning you in one place under some kind of tensed spell Instead the Alien Raiders characters are unlikable no matter how you spin it view spoilerThey re cruel in a fatalistic way with no respect or care for life other people s or Elizabeth I: Translations, 1544-1589 even their own dismissive and unyielding they raid for women like single minded cattle thieves to impregnate them And kill all who stand in their way orven those who may step aside if they re men They have a correspondent in our contemporary world the reviled women kidnapping terrorists and no one can find a shred of silver lining or romance in such a group of degenerates Not so our heroine who is ambivalent from the get go due to the impressive biceps and other physical Dolphin Confidential: Confessions of a Field Biologist endowments of the hero Her shaky resistance is chipped away. D That just means she has to speak up louder right Zar does what any sensible Nayanor in need of a mate does he raids Terra until he finds the perfect woman Except his perfect woman doesn't bow her head and follow orders as she's told likeverybody lse's Instead she seems to be an xpress ticket to get his head cut off his shoulders with her insolence her sharp tongue and her opinions that are not. DNF uit at 30%I really loved the Brion Bride series I loved the connection the Brion s had with their chosen they practically worshipped their chosens I don t know the plot in this book was too over the top bizarre or something There is no way a normal woman would be attracted to a monster who killed all the coworker human men just because they were useless in the way of abducting those human females bond or not then take all those human women to make into broodmares to continue their race I d have been horrified Withat Zar Knowing They Zar Knowing they those women alone would turn my stomach neutralize any attraction I didn t see any chemistry between Ashley Zar to help justify her acceptance of having an attraction to him willing All of the banter was not my style This was a bit too predictable and clich for my preference Maybe I need to give this genre a break for awhile This read just wasn t a memorable one for me and I won t be continuing the series This was another wonderful multi adventure book by one of the very BEST of Scifi authors I ve read all of her books to date xcept this new series It promises to be just as good as the Brions and Corgons It takes place in the same world with the Palians tcThe Nayanors come to Earth or terra from out of nowhere it appears They target a location with a large number of young females and capture very last one of them Most of the males trying to save them or just fight the Nayanors are killed The home planet of the Nayanors is Luminos It is a brutal place with a winter that is so brutal that it kills any left Out In It They in it They together in a vast fortress call the Black Hall an normous structure left behind by some previous From Cottage to Bungalow: Houses and the Working Class in Metropolitan Chicago, 1869-1929 even larger race The Nayanors are not small They generally stand over 7 feet tall and are packed with muscle but can move with lightning speed Vi Voxley s world building is a hallmark of herxcellent writing style It becomes Fresh Water easy to pictureverything that happensIt begins with Ashley and her friend Felicia at an Arctic science station She suddenly spots the fast moving sleek Nayanor space ship and its smaller raiders She gives the alert but knows that it will do little good She barricades Felicia and herself into a space she hopes is too small for the huge warriors and the Harbinger their fiercest leader Unfortunately she puts up such a struggle that the Harbinger himself comes after the two of them She is no match for his skills The only problem is that he immediately recognizes her as his fated one Captured she does not suddenly become docile or weeping and wailing like most of the 2012 other females taken She puts up a good fight and French Daguerreotypes even manages to send 3 of her fellow females off in anscape pod including Felicia She hopes they will reach the Galactic commonwealth and and tell what they know of the tactics used by the Nayanors Zar and his warriors are furious and the of the tactics used by the Nayanors Zar and his warriors are furious and the would love to kill her for her actions Only Zar as Harbinger saves her but at the cost of fighting several of his best warriors That along with the personal battles between the two of them make up a couple of the. Ashley Donovan is a woman set in her ways but compared to a Nayanor she's apparently incredibly adaptive Plucked from her ship like many others Ashley thought her life to be over but as destiny would have it it was only about to begin Granted it's with an incredibly infuriating and sexy raider lord whose understanding of common decency and the concept of civil discussion leaves something to be desire. ,

Surprisingly fast considering the flimsy crumbs of barely there compromise she gets from her owner mate to the point that the only actions she took where she showed spine become sources the point that the only actions she took where she showed spine become sources self flagellation and anguish The unconvincing mate bond is also introduced come on And I m not From Notes to Narrative: Writing Ethnographies That Everyone Can Read even touching theven unconvincing sex scenes cringeworthy like considering the dynamics It made ME feel helpless and angry and ueasy and couldn t read through it leafing the pages ahead to get to some other part of the story anywhere but there really Their relationship is weird too it s almost like she took up with a demented Vulcan or maybe a cyborg his motions are uite not there For all the touted value they confer to women or females as they call them they re treated like they re simpletons and cattle Maybe the value is of a commercial sort Plus the plot is so that you can well see it from a mile away hero is challenged by an ven appalling baddie the odds suck the heroine appears to be a weakness but she s not because she s plucky and worthy of him hero does what heroes do the nd The world building is minimal and brings to mind some Corgan lements hide spoiler Let me start this by xplaining what I have always loved about Vi Voxley s works There are abductions or kidnapping which is always a very tricky subject for me because done wrong they are abductions or kidnapping which is always a very tricky subject for me because done wrong they nothing than slave trafficking which is never ver romantic but Ms Voxley managed to make them romantic because there is always a choice the h until this story always had the choice to go or stay she might have been held against her will at the beginning Diego held Isolde while she was in danger Braen held Naima again for her own sake in those cases I saw the love develop and I cheered it on because those women were given the basic human right to choose to be with It must have been boring in the Arctic for the heroine to lust after her kidnapperThis story fell way short of a romance it was personal sex slave rotica The H takes her freedom belittles her and treats her like a joke always chuckling at her objectionsMaybe the next one will be better if the culture changes if women are better treatedMature content I will likely like the next book in this series much better but I could not get over the cultural habits of the aliens of slaying all the men and then taking the womenThe heroine was very clear that the abductions were wrong and there was likely a better way to dea I understand these stories are written with sex in mind Still at least the basic conventions of a novel should be respected It doesn t happen that often in futuristic rotic romance unfortunatelyBut what I really hate is the total lack of respect towards your reader when you pretend to write romance but there s no love Be honest write Gustave Caillebotte: The Painter's Eye erotica very very difficult I know Many authors fake it with a mate bond that is badnough But here you don t get ven that I could not read the sex scenes as I found them ugly and fake Unless you suffer from a split personality disorder that s it A woman kidnapped to slavery and whoredom doesn t lust while fearing for her lif. Only dangerous but blasphemous to the warlord who is the only hope for Zar's clan's survival But gods is she irresistible when doing all of that So what's it going to be His woman his clan or his loyalty Something's got to give and it won't be Zar or Ashley Alien Raiders' Brides is a series of full length fated mates scifi alien romances with a guaranteed HEA no cheating and plenty of impossible Alph.
