Hing and then almost immediately did a complete about face with seemingly no provocation It made my head spin a bit and it also made me feel like the original decision was completely for the sake of creating tensi So glad to see the Run to You serial compiled in a full novel just in time for the Romance Writers of America RITA awards for which this book was nominated Sometimes it s hard for me to turn off my writer brain The fast pacing in this story had me flipping pages with barely a thought to my internal editor so for that it gets my top ranking I enjoyed the pure ride of this suspenseful YA about a family on the run due to their psychic and psychokinetic abilities YA about a family on the run due to their psychic and psychokinetic abilities was one particular twist I didn t expect and the story ept me guessing The one thing that surprised me a bit was a character choice at the end Knowing the series continues in another book I guess I thought the ending might be different Though originally read as an entire serial maybe the experience was different in installments Either way a great fun read This book is a whirlwind of action and suspense I was addicted from page oneTessa is the only member of her family who doesn t have a psionic ability Her dad has the ability to see people what they re doing where they are at any time of the day and her mom brother and sister are telekinetic Tessa and her family are constantly on the run hiding from a vile man who is trying to Dogs Behaving Badly: An A-Z Guide to Understanding and Curing Behavorial Problems in Dogs kill them They ve been on the run for This book was so good Full of romance and mystery this book is one you don t want to miss In a nutshell I really loved the thriller aspect of this and the plot twists were greatNote I received a free digital copy of this book thanks to YA Bound Book Tours in exchange for an honest reviewPlotThe plot was just great I admit I wasn t that into it at first but once Iept reading I got really into it I loved the idea of having psychic powers first of all who wouldn t want those Gray Bishop kind of powers and secondly they make all stories so much cooler and I really liked the whole idea of the book a family on the run and all Everything was set up very well the plot wasn t all over the place or anything and there were plenty of plot twists and cliffhangers toeep readers on the edge of their seats Of course some of the plot twists can be considered predictable I guess the only reason they weren t for me was because I didn t want to believe what I already saw coming P Nonetheless this book was full of suspense and mystery and I really enjoyed
THE ROMANCE TOOCHARACTERSI JUST LOVED THEromance tooCharactersI just loved the Tessa was just such a sweetheart Being the only one in her family without a psychic gift Tessa never fit in not even in her own family While her siblings thrive at school wherever they go Tessa struggles to eep up This feeling of isolation this feeling of being different I sympathized with and that made it uite easy for me to connect with her and like her I really loved Tessa s character she may be considered naive by some but I found her to be realistic I didn t approve of all her decisions but I loved reading about them all the same By the end of the novel when all hell breaks loose I was really hurting for Tessa I had grown so attached to her that I felt her pain and my emotions were all over the placeThe love interest Tristan was great too I absolutely loved seeing his relationship with Tessa grow and how natural it seemed I could genuinely believe in the romance and totally rooted for it too He was simply so sweet and understanding his interactions with Tessa was something I looked forward to the mostClara Kensie did a great job of having me emotionally invested in the characters which made tragic and shocking events in the story have a greater impact as I cared so much for the characters It was greatWriting StyleThe writing style was gripping I couldn t stop reading it and I really enjoyed it Written in the perspective of Tessa in the first person the writing style allowed me to clearly see Tessa s feelings which in turn allowed me to strongly sympathize with her The writing style was very subtle I was able to picture everything without having to be told what everything was like All in all the writing was great and simply added to my overall reading experienceOverallThis book was a great read you d never be able to tell from the cover or the beginning of the story how great it really is but it really is This book honestly had my heart clenched in a fist or something The plot was hooking and I especially enjoyed the psychic part of the whole family being on the run I really loved the characters I sympathized with them and really connected with them even though in essence I have nothing in common with them They or specifically Tessa was simply likeable The writing style was gripping I couldn t stop reading the book and the writing style made the experience uite memorable I definitely recommend this book if you re looking for an addictive fast paced romantic thriller filled with plot twists and uniue idea. Clara Kensie ☆ 1 READMy genre choices I was glued to the story especially once I got about a uarter of the way in and I had no idea who was good who was bad or what would happen next I ll definitely be reading Deception So Dark when it is released in February 455 starsI read these books early last year when they had originally released as a serial and I really loved them After rereading I was afraid I wouldn t feel the same as I did then what with my ever changing tastes I am THRILLED to say I was just as enraptured now as I was then I have become a very distracted reader as of late and it is too easy for me to put down a book at the slightest distraction That is not the case with Deception So Deadly I was engaged from start to finish and completely invested in Tessa s story I think what made this so awesome for me was the romance between Tessa and Tristan I loved how he pursued her even after being rejected by her multiple times There s a reason for it I promise He is such a good guy and I really loved how sweet he was Tessa is a sweetheart too and I felt for her She does not form attachments with others because her family is always on the run and must be ready to flee at a moment s notice While her brother and sister thrive in their new environments Tessa doesn t She is the only one in her family who does not have psychic gifts and really does feel like she s no one special She pulls away from Tristan because she s afraid to fall for him and not be able to tell him the truth about who she really is She is very sensitive in that respect not wanting to create something that s built on lies However Tessa s mother brother and sister won t be easily dissuaded They want Tessa to have a friend to have some semblance of a normal life so they see Tristan as a good thing for her I loved seeing Tessa and Tristan together There is so much issing I wanted to burst It was just the sweetest of relationships and I loved that it felt natural and it was so fitting of a young adult romance I really liked the suspense element in the story too We now Tessa and her family are on the run from a Dennis Connolly because he hurt Tessa when she was younger Because of his own psychic abilities he can always find them Tessa s father has the ability to see him when he s close which I thought was a little convenient but there IS a reason for it as we find out later in the book when everything is completely thrown into chaos I loved the chaos It was shocking and I had no idea it was coming It was hard to read at the same time because my heart just hurt for Tessa She has already been through so much in her life and to add in all of these other factors Killed me I won t say much because obviously I don t want to
Spoil It But I Reallyit but I really reading this book again I can t wait to dive into the next oneReceived a copy of this book via YABound Tours in exchange for a fair and honest review This review and many can be found on my blog Feed Your Fiction AddictionThe title of this book does not lie There were some surprises in this book that caught me totally off guard and a few that I guessed but that s par for the course Many characters in the book are deceived by someone or other but of course I can t tell you much than that In fact this is a tough book to review without giving things away so I m going to have to be very generic in my review and you ll just have to trust me that you ll want to read to find out where it all goesWhat Fed My AddictionA double life I m always sort of fascinated by books where a character has to live undercover and that s definitely the case here Tessa and her entire family have spent years on the run They rarely live somewhere for than a few months and they bring entire family have spent years on the run They rarely live somewhere for than a few months and they bring nothing with them Tessa has had a dozen names over the years and she can t get close to anyone partially because of the secrets she has to eep and partially due to the trauma she endured as a child the horrific events that live on in her nightmaresTessa s transformation Tessa has spent her life afraid She is constantly waiting for the very real bogeyman to catch up with her family and succeed where he failed the first time in illing her Because "of this she s built a bit of a shell around herself and she s somewhat "this she s built a bit of a shell around herself and she s somewhat This is exacerbated by the fact that she s the only person in her family without any psychic or telekinetic abilities she feels like she s the only one who can t help to eep her family safe always a liability She also feels guilt over what happened to them in the first place so there s a lot of bad for her to dwell on But as the book goes on Tessa finally begins to open up and trust a bit She also learns to trust in her own capabilities and to insist that others see that she s not incapable as well I enjoyed watching Tessa come into her ownThe romance Tessa and Tristan are great together and I was definitely a fan of the romanceWhat Left Me Hungry for MoreMake up your mind There was one point at the end of the book where Tessa made up her mind about somet. Ew identities yet again Tessa meets confident carefree Tristan Walker Their attraction burns fierce but she runs from him too Noir knowing their love can never be true when she can’t even tell him her real name But Tristan has secrets as well secrets that will either save Tessa or destroy her The only way Tessa can save her family and uncover the real reason. It s been a while since I was this riveted by a book I read it straight through well into the night and the early hours of the next morning because I had tonow what happened next and then after that until the very end The suspense was sustained through the entire book and I really was not expecting the reveal at the end It doesn t end on a cliffhanger but there is still a problem that needs to be solved in the seuel I m so glad that the next book is coming out soonI m a reader who always wants to Renovate: Changing Who You Are by Loving Where You Are know how much romance is in a book so I try to remember to mention that element in my reviews There is romance woven into this story and I liked how it developed Since Tessa has toeep so many secrets the romance had a forbidden element to it which was exciting Tristan was mature than most YA love interests and I loved what he said to Tessa when he was trying to convince her that he Gaffer knew enough about her to fall for her Of course with all those secrets they become entangled in uite a web At one point it was like they hit reset on their relationship which I found very exciting They don t go beyondissing if that s something you re concerned aboutThis book was thrilling for me in a way that took me all the way back to my teens when I used to be enthralled by stories like this That was before paranormal books all started following the same formula of the chosen one It s not that I don t enjoy stories like that but it s so exciting when you can t predict the outcome for the heroine because she can t just zap the bad guy If you want to read something different from the usual I recommend this book THIS WAS SO AWESOME Full review coming soonUpdated June 23 2015Thank you to YA Bound Book Tours for providing me a copy for reviewDeception So Deadly started off with a bang The reader is immediately introduced to Tessa Carson and her family who is on the run from Dennis Connelly a murderer who has been hunting them for years Every time Dennis comes close to catching them they move away to a new place and go by new names completely starting with a blank space every time The Carson family isn t just any normal family either and not just because they re constantly on the run from danger Everyone in the family has psychic gifts minus Tessa herself Her father has a mobile eye with which he can see through other people after touching them her mother can move objects with her mind and even her brother and sister have powers That s how they Circumstantial Evidence know when Dennis is coming her father senses when he s found them After moving to a new town Tessa ends up befriending a boy named Tristan They go on jogs a lot together and end up becoming than friends The thing is Tessa hasn t ever gotten close to someone that wasn t family because shenows she has to eep all her secrets What s a girl to do I absolutely ate up this book The romance between Tessa and Tristan was absolutely beautiful I loved that they adored each other so much and were always there for one another The suspense in this book was so amazing as well I loved learning about the family s powers and why they had to constantly be on the run It was just a whirlwind of a read I m definitely eager to finally read book two I received this free book in exchange for an honest reviewI d have probably enjoyed this book "A Lot If I Was " lot if I was my teens or younger but it s still action packed and the romance is super cute and feels genuine It took me sometime to get into it at first but once I did I couldn t put it down Ok I m ready for the seuel now DECEPTION SO DEADLY has been out for about a month now and wow I m blown away by all the love Thank you everyone This book had a looooong journey of
