This Work Then I Encouragework Then I encourage to do as I have done share
First of all this is Twain Based on his wit his crafty writing there s no way I could give this less than three stars However I believe his argument and conclusion are dependant upon premises which may or may not be trueThe lynchpin for his argument is this statement If you pray for the blessing of rain upon your crop which needs it by that act you are possibly praying for a curse upon some neighbor s crop which may not need rain and can be injured by itIs this true If God does not have unlimited power then this is certainly true Or if God is not wise enough to solve this dilemma then the conclusion is still true Or if God is not good enough to care then Twain s argument certainly holds togetherTwain takes the statement above and applies it to war He claims if a person prays for the safety of their troops then they are inherently asking death and destruction to be poured out onto the other troops causing their families to grieve and mourn and suffer Therefore it is a ruthless and evil prayerThe uestion Twain is attempting to answer is Can God protect all troops at once Can God cause some to shake in fear and surrender and others to be victorious The answer to Twain s uestion seems to be dependant on how big good and wise God isWithout uestion Twain s objections hold true for a demigod a Ne this antiwar parable remained unpublished until 1923 when Twain's literary executor collected it in the volume Europe and Elsewhere Handsomely illustrated by the artist and war correspondent Philip Groth The War Prayer remains a relevant classic by an American ico. .it First of all this is Twain Based on his wit

Ells the patriotic crowd that their prayers for victory are double edged by praying for victory they are also praying for the destruction of the enemy for the destruction of human life Originally rejected for publication in 1905 as not uite suited to a woman's magazi.
